Let's try the poll again!
A couple of days ago I wanted to post a poll on favorite computer games. But when I went to the website that I used to make polls, I discovered it was gone! I found another place to create a webpoll, but every time I've tested it since I put it up, the site has been down. :-(
So here's another version of the poll (I've removed the first one). If you've already voted, please vote again.
I just finished playing the new computer game Dreamfall, and even though we don't have it here at the library, I'd highly recommend it. It's the sequel to The Longest Journey, which was the Adventure Game of the Year in 2003. It takes place 10 years after the end of The Longest Journey, in the future. You play as a teenage girl, a mercenary, and April Ryan (from the first game) traveling between the worlds of science, magic and dreams. The graphics are amazing and the voice acting is quite good.
If you don't like to listen to long stretches of dialogue, this game is not for you. Sometimes you need to just sit back, watch and listen. But if you like fantasy, check it out. One warning, though -- it's part 2 of a three part series. I didn't know when I played it, and yelled at my computer when I finished the game!

Are you planning to see the movie Hoot when it comes out this weekend? I read the book a couple of years ago, and thought it was great, and very funny. Here's part of the review from Amazon.com.
Roy Eberhardt is the new kid--again. This time around it's Trace Middle School in humid Coconut Grove, Florida. But it's still the same old routine: table by himself at lunch, no real friends, and thick-headed bullies like Dana Matherson pushing him around. But if it wasn't for Dana Matherson mashing his face against the school bus window that one day, he might never have seen the tow-headed running boy. And if he had never seen the running boy, he might never have met tall, tough, bully-beating Beatrice. And if he had never met Beatrice, he might never have discovered the burrowing owls living in the lot on the corner of East Oriole Avenue. And if he had never discovered the owls, he probably would have missed out on the adventure of a lifetime. Apparently, bullies do serve a greater purpose in the scope of the universe. Because if it wasn't for Dana Matherson...
So, why not read the book and see the movie. Let us know which you like better!
